Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappé has scored record-breaking goals in the French football season.
Mbappé, who is currently playing for the Ligue 1 champions, has scored 25 goals in his first 24 games this season. This is the most goals scored by any player in a single league campaign since Lionel Messi's record-breaking 38 goals in 2017-18.
The record was previously held by Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 29 goals in his first 26 games in the 2019-20 season.
Mbappé has been instrumental in helping Paris Saint-Germain to a 16-point lead over second-placed Lyon at the moment. The team have won seven of their last nine matches and are expected to continue their strong form in the coming weeks.
Mbappé has also become the youngest player in European history to score 50 goals in a single season. He turned 18 years old in February and has already surpassed that milestone.
The club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has praised Mbappé's performance so far this season. "Kylian is one of the greatest young talents in world football,Primeira Liga Hotspots" he said. "He has shown incredible skill and determination, and we are all proud of him."
Mbappé himself has expressed confidence in his ability to keep up his impressive form. "I am really excited about the season," he said. "I know I can do it again, and I am looking forward to helping Paris Saint-Germain win more titles."
